Left alone to survive in a slum with several children to care for, she was overwhelmed and unable to meet their basic needs.Thankfully, HOU stepped in to support the family, and Nawoova was welcomed into a safe and loving environment. Today, Nawoova is a healthy, joyful young girl full of life and energy. She loves to sing, jump rope, and play games with her friends. With her bright spirit and musical talent, she dreams of becoming a singer and sharing her voice with the world.
Hobby: WritingFuture Career Goal: Teacher Alaisha lost her mother in a tragic road accident when she was just 2 years old. After the accident, she was placed in the care of an uncle who, unfortunately, did not provide the care she needed. By the time she was brought to HOU, Alaisha was severely malnourished and close to death. She was immediately hospitalized and, with proper care and nutrition, made a full recovery. Today, Alaisha is a bright and cheerful girl who is doing well in school. She loves to read, plays happily with other children, and enjoys writing—often practicing by scribbling in the dirt. With her gentle spirit and love for learning, Alaisha dreams of becoming a teacher one day.

Older children often used him to beg on their behalf, knowing he would win the sympathy of passersby. His older brother, who was with him, struggled with drug use and was often under the influence. Longing for love and stability, Jovin was overjoyed to be welcomed into the care of HOU. He adjusted quickly and found the sense of home he had been yearning for. Though he has no memory of his parents, Jovin is a cheerful boy who loves God and looks forward to going to school each day. He dreams of becoming a mechanic and already shows promise with his creativity—especially in making toy cars.
