Hope for Orphans Uganda welcomes volunteers from all professional and personal backgrounds: construction, teaching, nursing, engineering, horticulture, the list is endless! Or maybe you can offer other skills you have learned along the way?
It’s a truly rewarding experience to be working as part of a tight-knit team, where you can really see how you are making a difference in the community. The smiles on the children’s faces alone make it all worthwhile!

We believe in creating a mutual experience of transformation. As a volunteer, you won’t just be giving—you’ll also be learning. You’ll witness firsthand the resilience and joy of children who have faced great hardship, and you’ll build deep connections with the HOU family. We provide full support during your stay, including airport pickup, accommodation arrangements, and orientation to ensure your time is safe, productive, and fulfilling.
Our team will collect you from the airport and ensure that you are looked after for the duration of your stay. Various accommodation options are available, depending on the level of comfort required.
Sponsor a Child
Sponsorship is more than financial support—it’s an investment in a child’s future. Through our sponsorship program, you provide a vulnerable child with access to shelter, education, healthcare, spiritual mentorship, and a loving family environment. Your support means that a child who once faced hopelessness now has a real chance at a bright future.
Sponsorship connects you personally with one of our children. You’ll receive regular updates, photos, and letters from your sponsored child, allowing you to witness their growth and progress. You’ll see how your gift transforms not just their circumstances, but their self-confidence, outlook, and dreams. It’s a powerful and rewarding journey of hope.

The journey of Hope for Orphans Uganda is one of faith, growth, and vision. While we are grateful for how far God has brought us, we know our work is just beginning. Our long-term goal is to break the cycle of poverty, abandonment, and trauma—one child at a time. That’s why we’re constantly dreaming, planning, and building for a better tomorrow.
We envision expanding Hope Junior School to include a full secondary education program, equipping our children not just with academic knowledge but with the tools to create jobs, lead initiatives, and lift their communities. Plans are also underway to improve our infrastructure: a larger library, a fully equipped computer lab, improved classrooms, a dedicated church building, and a more advanced health center that can serve even more families.
Additionally, we plan to launch vocational training for our older students—teaching trades and entrepreneurship so they can become self-reliant. Above all, we remain focused on our ultimate mission: to raise up Christ-following leaders who will carry the message of hope into every corner of Uganda and beyond.
